Abby Schulze is a dance educator and creator based in Athens, Georgia with a passion for increasing the accessibility and quality of dance performance through arts administration and dance education. Over the past eight years, she has taught and choreographed at N-Step Dance Academy, DanceFX, and The Studio Athens. From 2020-2021, Abby interned as the Executive Marketing Assistant for the Traverse City Dance Project in Michigan under Brent Whitney and Jennifer McQuiston Lott. She then worked with the Joffrey Ballet School in Georgia, California, and Colorado as an Administrative Assistant and Resident Advisor during their 2022 and 2023 summer seasons.
Abby graduated from the University of Georgia with her Bachelor of Arts in Dance and is a Double Dawg student pursuing a Master of Arts in Nonprofit Management and Leadership. Through the UGA Dance Department, she has performed in the 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 UGA Dance Company Concerts; the 2022 and 2023 Black History Month Concerts; and the 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 Emerging Choreographer’s Series Concerts. Abby also debuted three concert choreographic works that investigate the art of relationships, decision-making, and the physicality of emotion. In January of 2023, Abby was a part of an ensemble that opened for the Martha Graham Dance Company in Athens, Georgia with their performance of Martha Graham’s original piece, “Steps In the Street.”
Abby was the Marketing Coordinator and a company member of Lauren Overstreet’s Atlanta Contemporary Dance Company from 2022-2024. Abby is now a member of KitModus, an Atlanta-based contemporary company under the direction of Jillian Mitchell, and performed works by Noelle Kaiser and Christian Denice in April of 2025. Abby’s performance interests include emotional storytelling and authenticity of movement and experiences.
