Marena Seidel is an Athens-based artist and community weaver. She paints primarily in acrylic, layered with mixed media, in bold, saturated color that works less as decoration and more as transmission: each piece carries a feeling, a frequency, a message that moves through the viewer before the mind catches up. Symbols, spirals, and recurring natural forms (blooms, water, celestial cycles) appear throughout her work as a visual language for transformation, shadow, and the gold that tends to be hiding in both.

Marena also facilitates creative expression workshops, where art becomes a way of meeting yourself rather than making something “good.” Participants work with whatever is alive in the moment, whether that’s joy, grief, restlessness, or something that doesn’t have a name yet, and let it move onto the canvas. She’s passionate about this work because she knows firsthand how healing and powerful it is to meet what’s present exactly as it is.

Marena is newly rooted in Athens and always up for connecting with fellow creatives and community-builders in the area. Original work and commissions at marenaseidel.com.
