Natalie Smith is a professional flutist and music educator in Athens, GA. She teaches private lessons on flute and piano, as well as music and movement classes for little kids through Music with Natalie. She also performs in many situations all over the Southeast. She is equally comfortable playing with Brizilian Forró band Bichos Vivos, sitting principal flute in symphony orchestras, and playing in the pit for a musical theater production. Natalie also performs with her guitarist husband Brian Smith as The Musicsmiths, playing primarily for weddings, dinners and other special events. Natalie's latest love is HEART Music, the nonprofit that she and Brian started in 2019. HEART Music is a music education support organization whose primary goal is to make high quality music education available to all people in Athens, and beyond. Currently, the teachers of HEART Music are paid to go into Athens-Clarke County public schools and lead sectionals and small group lessons, supporting classroom music directors in their efforts to teach aspiring musicians.
