Profile: poordaisy
Earning a degree in Business Education, I taught high school for a few years prior to working in the business world until becoming a mother later in life. Although I was an "Executive Wife" for many years, I was never idle. My love of gardening, and the joy of growing beautiful flowers and delicious food, being a perpetual volunteer in the community, traveling with my husband, raising my family, and always learning about painting in watercolor, oil and other mediums, kept me engaged in the world.
I have had the honor of studying watercolor painting with Jill Saur, Tony Couch, and internationally known watercolor artist, Charles Reid. I spent nine years honing the skills of oil painting in the style of the old masters with Atlanta artist, Chris di Domizio. Each of these well known artists has shared their special painting secrets with me, which I incorporates into my own style of painting.
I have shown my paintings in more than 150 Exhibitions, many of which were Solo Exhibitions.
I am active in the Athens Area Plein Air Painters; the Athens Art Association; Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF); Portrait Society of America; National Watercolor Society; American Women Artists; and I am a signature member of the Georgia Watercolor Society.
You may see me painting en plein air almost anywhere because I love to combine my wanderlust with capturing the moment through art.
